Maths
In maths, we will be beginning the term look at the place value of digits in numbers. We will then move on to exploring strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, both mental and written.

Remember to encourage your child to practice their times tables often using TT Rockstars. Times tables are so important for them to achieve their full potential.
English
During our writing lessons, we will be reading ‘Coming to England’. Our children will be focusing on improving their use of punctuation and vocabulary. We are going to focus on recounting genres and write our own letters.
Science
In science, we will be learning about how plants and animals are classified. We will be finding out about the work of our super scientist Carl Linnaeus.
We will learn about vertebrates and invertebrates and how to classification keys for plants and animals. We plan to take a walk in our local area to help us with out investigations.
History and Geography

Important Information
PE
Pe is every Wednesday and every other Monday.
Children will need a full kit for this as listed on our website.
Homework
Your child will bring their homework book home each Monday and this is due Friday. Instructions are on the page and it follows the same format each week.
Children are also expected to read and practice their times tables regularly.
