We will reading: The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth

Look out! There’s a mammoth on the loose!

We will following Oscar through a magical museum of curious creatures to find the mammoth before the clock strikes one!

We will be learning to use story language, write sentences to form a narrative to tell our own adventure story and begin to use ‘and’ to join clauses.

Alongside this, we will be consolidating our phonic knowledge, sentence building and letter formation. We will work on our comprehension skills and fluency when reading and explore spelling rules.

We will sharing stories daily to promote reading for pleasure.

Light

We will be investigating how shadows are formed and changed as well as how light is reflected.

Rocks and Soils

We will be finding out about the three different types of rocks – igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic.

History

We will be learning about life in the Stone Age and comparing it with our lives today.

the four countries that make up the UK
different types of settlements – hamlet, village, town and city

Snack

We will have snack time each morning at 10:30. Toast is available to purchase from school at £1 per week. To help with transition at the end of the day, we are also having an afternoon snack at 2:50 where children are able to eat anything remaining in their lunch boxes or snacks brought in from home.

PE takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
