We will be learning to:
• join words and clauses using and
• use simple description
• sequence sentences to form short narratives
• consistently use a capital letter for places and days of the week
• punctuate using a capital letter, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark
The children will write a new version of the story with a new character or new setting as well as a non-chronological report about bears. We will continue to look at traditional tales as part of our reading area texts.

We will look at:
- days of the week

We will be learning to tell the time to the hour and half hour.

- identify different parts of flowering plants

- explore what plants need to live and grow
- investigate the way water is transported in plants
- explore the part that flowers play in the life cycle of flowering plants
History
What did the Romans leave behind?
We will be learning about:
- the Roman army
- Roman houses
- Britain before the Romans
- Britain after the Romans
Geography
Fieldwork Study
This will be within the school grounds and as part of a trip to a beach.
We will be learning to:
- sort human and physical features
- draw and label maps
- look at the ground and compare it
- identify what a beach is

Snack
Children can bring in a healthy snack each day or they can buy toast for £1 a week. Please send £1 into school in an envelope with your child by 9.30am each Friday morning to pay for toast for the following week.
Alternatively you can pay for the term by bank transfer direct to school. Please use your child’s name and ‘TUCK’ as the reference.

PE
PE is on Wednesdays.
Your child needs a full named PE kit including:
- Blue Dallam PE Top
- Black Shorts
- Trainers
- Black jogging bottoms
- Black hooded top / jumper

Swimming
Swimming takes place every Thursday.
Your child needs a swimming kit including:
- Towel
- Swimming shorts or costume
- Goggles
- Plastic bag for wet clothes
Homework
Homework is set every Monday.
Children should return their completed homework to class by Friday.
Spellings
Weekly spellings are sent home via seesaw.
They will be tested as part of a dictation exercise every Thursday.
Reading Books
Reading books are collected in every Thursday and changed.
A new reading book will be sent home on Friday.
